Today, ESU is a comprehensive university in northeastern Pennsylvania offering 58 undergraduate programs, 21 master's programs and two doctoral program. More than 5,000 students are enrolled for the high quality, affordable, and accessible education ESU provides.

Communication Sciences and Disorders Major Megan Reinert Selected as Undergraduate Speaker for Winter Commencement Ceremony

Megan U. Reinert, a graduating senior majoring in communication sciences and disorders from Saint Simons Island, Ga., was selected from a pool of student speaker candidates to serve as East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania's undergraduate student speaker for the winter commencement ceremony on Saturday, December 16, at 9:45 a.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse. Undergraduate student speaker candidates must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average entering the fall semester; a demonstrated record of service to the university community and a record of citizenship and cooperation; demonstrated evidence of meaningful extra/co-curricular involvement and must be in good academic standing.

Students in Professor David Mazure's Graphic Design I class created posters with messages about the importance of inclusion that will be hung around campus this month. Mazure believes it's an especially timely project given the deep divide in the country over political and social issues.

ESU Senior Participates in Two-Day Walk

East Stroudsburg University student Elizabeth Roberts, a senior majoring in communication from Harleysville, Pa., participated in a two-day walk to benefit Multiple Sclerosis. The walk, which took place in Maryland and spanned 30 miles, worked to support the mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

ESU Ice Hockey First in Division

East Stroudsburg Universityas Ice Hockey team, a club sport, is currently first in the American East division and first in the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC) with an 8-1-2 record. Coming off of a losing season last year, ESU has rallied with a new wave of rookie players and an all-around team chemistry.

ESU Project Aims to Help First-Generation College Students

To help first-generation college students, ESU launched its "1st Gen" project in September. Faculty and staff who were in the first generation of their families to go to college will be invited to wear buttons that say "1ST GEN" to identify themselves on campus for current first-generation students who have questions or just want to talk to someone who was once in their shoes. As of Fall 2016, first-generation college students made up 28.5 percent of ESU undergraduates.

Theatre Department Presents The Crucible

The East Stroudsburg University's Theatre Department will present Arthur Miller's The Crucible, October 18 and 20-22. The classic drama examines how bigoted and deceitful accusations of witchcraft in 17th-century Salem, Massachusetts created mass hysteria that resulted in the murders of innocent people.

MEDLIFE East Stroudsburg University Invites Community to Play Dodgeball

East Stroudsburg Universityas chapter of MEDLIFE will host the 2nd Annual MEDLIFE Dodgeball Tournament on Sunday, November 19 at 5 p.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse. The tournament is open to the public. The cost of registration is $80 per team. Teams of eight, with two substitutes, can register by searching a2nd Annual MEDLIFE Dodge Ball Tournamenta website.
