A total of 1,126 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Spring 2022 semester of the 2001-2022 academic year, according to Margaret Ball. D.M.A., interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

Before the close of the spring 2022 semester, ESU Student Government Association held elections for the cabinet positions of the organization. n April 28, during their last meeting of the semester, the new officers were sworn in. They will represent the ESU student body during the 2022-2023 academic year.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Monroe County Hospice House both held their annual telethons at ESU during the Spring 2022 semester. Both telethons were produced by ESU students in the university's television studio.

A total of 1,021 students received degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at a commencement ceremony on May 8 at Eiler-Martin Stadium. A total of 800 bachelor's degrees, 214 master's degrees and seven doctoral degrees were awarded. Fall 2021 Graduates, whose degrees were conferred in December, were invited to participate in the ceremony.

Graduating seniors Shade Stokes-Campbell and Magdelynn Wigoda have spent their years at East Stroudsburg University with a desire to lead and serve others. Stokes-Campbell, a public health major from Philadelphia, Pa., was awarded the University Service Award for the 2021-22 academic year. Wigoda, a communication sciences and disorder major from Minersville, Pa., was awarded the University Leadership Award.

Five doctoral degrees will be awarded during at ESU commencement exercises on Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. in Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Jessica Irwin, a senior at East Stroudsburg University from Port Matilda, Pa., was ESU's finalist for the 2022 Syed R. Ali-Zaidi Award for Academic Excellence.

East Stroudsburg University will hold its 2022 commencement exercise on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in Eiler-Martin Stadium. Andrea McClanahan, Ph.D, professor of communication will address the graduates. Student speakers, Austin Weitman and Loretta Erdo, will also address their classmates. Susan Dillmuth-Miller, Au.D., University Senate president, will be the grand marshal for the ceremony, which will honor ESU's December 2021 and May 2022 graduates.

On Thursday, April 21, 30 students studying sport management in East Stroudsburg University's College of Business Management visited Nationals Park, home of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals.
