On a breezy, sunny summer morning at the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Ella Brennan and Karson Smith inched carefully through waist-high grass in search of one of the several wood turtles the ESU environmental science majors are tasked with protecting in their roles as interns there.

Just one year into her college career at East Stroudsburg University, Luna Mumma has found her passion in chemistry research. From experience and mentorship to the thrill of discovery, Mumma hopes to be an advocate to other students about the benefits undergraduate research can bring.

A recent East Stroudsburg University graduate, Toluwani Abbas, was selected to attend a program which seeks to help prepare and empower young women to be future leaders in the political process. Abbas attended the National Education for Women's (NEW) Leadership Pennsylvania institute at the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics at Chatham University in Pittsburgh from May 18-23.
